Michelle Obama's Healthy Habits

As a mom, Michelle Obama struggles with the same issues we all do -- how to keep her family healthy and happy. Today's theme focuses on embracing a new healthy habit, and we talked to the first lady on how she, her two daughters -- and yes, even Barack -- have made healthy changes in their lives recently. As iVillage guest editor, Mrs. Obama talked to us about everything from limiting TV time to prioritizing family dinners to fast food vices. (Guess who's the French fry-lover in the family?!)

Prioritizing Family Dinner
"Surprisingly, the best healthy habit is eating dinner together on a regular basis. I think we underestimate the importance of families sitting down around the table at a set time. And it’s hard for many families.

It was hard for us until we got to the White House, but we talk about this all the time. Barack can at least control that part of his schedule. He can stop whatever he is doing, come home at 6:30 p.m. We kind of structure our lives around mealtime."

Hear how Sasha and Malia influenced healthy habits at home in this exclusive interview with the First Lady.
