Rosie O'Donnell is going to be a married woman soon -- and she's excited. In fact, she's so psyched that she took to Twitter Monday night to show off the sparkly new diamond ring she recently slid onto girlfriend Michelle Rounds' finger.
Judging by the photo (see above) -- in which Rounds, 40, flaunts a smile that's almost as dazzling as her new jewelry -- Michelle is thrilled as well.
And, in case there was any doubt, the image is accompanied by the caption "so so so happy" -- which O'Donnell, 49, tweeted at follower Mandie Cross in response to her well-wishes for the engagement.
The couple met over the summer -- while waiting in line at a Starbucks! -- and moved to Chicago together in October.
O'Donnell and Rounds announced their engagement Monday afternoon. But according to a Twitter conversation O'Donnell had with follower Lisa Renwick, the proposal actually occurred some time ago. Rosie says she "kept it in as long as i could" before broadcasting her happiness to the world.
Bravo host Andy Cohen tweeted at O'Donnell, "Mazel on your engagement!"
Rosie responded, "thanks andy ... i am very happy ..."
ABC reporter and VH1 host Bobby Rivers, meanwhile, posed an interesting question for the actress and comedian. "In her Vh1 days, did @Rosie ever think 1 day she could announce her same-sex engagement & it would make good showbiz news? Progress," he wrote.
O'Donnell responded optimistically, saying, "i know bob - right ? when we hold hands in the street i realize as a kid - i never dreamed it would be possible ... miss u."
No word yet on when O'Donnell and Rounds are planning to tie the knot, but we wish them all the best on their road to the altar!
