The Situation Enters Treatment Program for "Rest and Recuperation"

The Jersey Shore star's rep confirms that he has checked into a program but denies rumors that it's for substance abuse

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is taking a break from the partying for a little while!

The reality TV star, 29, has checked into a treatment program.

"He has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule," the star's rep confirms to Us Weekly.

But the rep -- and The Sitch himself -- are denying rumors that the Jersey Shore star entered the facility for substance abuse issues.

"Getting in amazing shape for season 6," the Situation twittered on March 20. "Don't believe everything you read or hear," he added.

There's been no word from MTV about whether the situation with The Situation will halt production for season 6. The coming season will also showcase the growing baby bump of pregnant Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, who will continue on the show, even if she doesn't live in the house.

"MTV gets ready for fist pumps and baby bumps," the statement says. "America's favorite housemates will all return to their home-away-from-home, and the house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory...as their lives outside the Shore take off in exciting new directions."
