With or without benefits, Mila Kunis is a good friend to have around -- particularly when you're in Russia! At a Moscow press conference for Friends with Benefits, the 27-year-old Ukranian-born actress rushed to costar Justin Timberlake's defense as the translators struggled to catch up. Watch the video below!
Since we don't speak Russian ourselves, People has helpfully provided an English translation. So here's what happened: A Moscow reporter asked Timberlake, 30, why he's focusing on movies rather than his music career. That question that has no doubt been asked hundreds of times over the course of this press tour, and perhaps Kunis just got tired of hearing it, because she immediately sprang into action.
"Why movies? Why not?" she snapped back in Russian, getting a laugh from the crowd. "What kind of question is that? Why are you here?"
Kunis then turned to Timberlake to ask if he was getting the translation in his earpiece.
"Yeah, but it's late," said the actor. Now caught up, he turned to the room, motioned to Mila and said, "This is my bodyguard!" (You probably got that part, seeing as it was in English.)
Obviously, there's still chemistry between these two! Speculation that they're more than friends has been renewed lately, as they've been spotted looking awfully cute together on the European leg of their promotional tour. On Tuesday, the pair dined with friends at the upscale London sushi joint Nobu. According to the Daily Mail, they entered the restaurant separately but sat close together throughout the meal.
"They were cozying up to each other and she barked at him -- 'J!' -- to follow her," says a fellow diner. "It was like a real girlfriend bark."
Another eyewitness goes a step further, saying that Mila "yelled at Justin across the restaurant in a way that can only mean one thing." Well then!
Kunis and Timberlake both ended long-term relationships (he with Jessica Biel, she with Macaulay Culkin) earlier this year, leading to speculation that they'd fallen for one another during filming. Though Mila's camp denies a relationship, she and Timberlake milked the rumor mill with their staged grope-fest at the MTV Movie Awards in June. But Timberlake isn't easy to pin down; he's been linked in the past few months to longtime friend Olivia Wilde and even ex-girlfriend Biel.
Sadly, this new video gives no clues as to whether Kunis and Timberlake are a couple. But it does prove two things: One, they're adorable together and, two, Mila Kunis knows how to be funny in any language.
