Miley Cyrus

Born to country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Tish, it seemed Destiny Hope Cyrus was prepped for showbiz. As Dad transitioned from music into acting, Destiny Hope, a true daddy’s girl, was determined to follow in her father’s footsteps. The always-smiling child (nicknamed Smiley and later shortened to Miley) went on auditions for two years until she finally won the lead role in a new TV show in 2005. She soon took the world by storm playing the Disney Channel’s wildly popular Hannah Montana, a regular teen with a double life as a famous pop singer. “Being onstage has always been my calling,” she told People. Now a bona fide pop icon, the 17-year-old performer's career has exploded into multiplatinum albums, movies, high-profile romances (most recently with Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth) and clothing lines. In May 2008, she was named People’s richest kid in the world after inking a seven-figure book deal.
