It's time to offer Miley Cyrus condolences. The pet-loving celebrity has lost one of her beloved dogs. Cyrus shared the news of her adorable dog Lila's death with her Twitter followers on Dec. 11.
"Can't think of one good reason to get out of bed today ..." Cyrus wrote. "For everyone asking ... I have never been so hurt in my life. My heart has never been so broken ... Lila my sweet baby girl has passed away."
Lila, a Yorkie mix, had recently turned 2 in November and was a frequent fixture on Cyrus' Twitter feed. In early October, Lila was hopitalized and Cyrus sent an an urgent plea for prayers: "please pray for my baby girl Lila... She is in the hospital. I am so heart broken. Please send out vibes for her to not be afraid & to heal."
Cyrus, 20, is known for being an avid pet owner, a PETA member and an adoptive mother to several dogs with her fiance Liam Hemsworth. Her other dogs are: Ziggy, Floyd, Happy, Mary Jane and Penny Lane, all of whom have been photographed by the proud singer.
The singer, who guest starred on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men earlier this fall, is in such grief she plans to step back from social media for a while.
"Broken. Gonna go MIA for a bit," Cyrus told her millions of Twitter fans. "Need some healing time. Thank you to everyone who has sent love my way. I need it."
