Miley Cyrus thinks that the best guys come from Down Under -- and she's got a pretty strong case. The 19-year-old star accompanied her Aussie fiance Liam Hemsworth, 22, to the Australians in Film Awards on Wednesday night in Century City, California. It was the couple's first red-carpet appearance since announcing their engagement at the end of May, and Miley (sporting a massive diamond ring) was over the moon.
"[Australians are] way hotter. There's no competition," she gushed to People. "I think there's a masculinity about them that is probably like growing up in the South, like what I did. They are a little bit more respectful, I suppose."
Cyrus, who grew up in Nashville, also compared Liam favorably to her father Billy Ray Cyrus.
"My dad has always been a really hard worker, so I like it when men work hard," she said. "I think it's important and I always work really hard, so it's good to have someone who is as passionate about what they do, and wants to be great at what they do."
It's clear that Miley only has eyes for Liam. But we can't help but think she probably also had a few other Australians in mind when she professed their hotness. After all, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Worthington, Russell Crowe and Eric Bana all hail from the land Down Under.
