Some tragic news came out of the Miley Cyrus camp today: One person was killed and another was injured after her tour bus crashed near Richmond, Virginia.

HollywoodLife.com reports that, the singer and Disney TV star herself was not on the bus at the time of the accident. A TMZ.com report says Miley was on another bus that was part of the four-vehicle caravan that travels with her on her tour.

The driver was killed when the bus overturned on Interstate 85; the 15 passengers on board survived. One of them is being treated at a local hospital for minor injuries.

Police have shut down the stretch of the freeway surrounding the location of the crash, which took place about 40 miles south of Richmond. The local Sergeant said the bus overturned at about 8:15 this morning and they are investigating what may have caused the accident.

Cyrus is in the middle of a U.S. tour, and according to a list of concert dates on her Web site, she is scheduled to play in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sunday.
