chime in nowAge: 41
Number of Kids: 4 (plus 1 grandchild)
Where They’re Stationed: Navy Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif.
Her Military Connection: Husband is an Army major
Number of Times She’s Moved for the Military: 6 times (with move number 7 planned this summer)
Her proudest moment as a military wife and mother: When my oldest son Justin, 22, was sworn into the Army. It showed me that he realizes the sacrifices his stepdad (my husband) and our family have made over the years are worth it, that he's always tried to make the best decisions for our family. I'm very proud that he wants to follow in his stepdad's footsteps.
How she talks to her kids about deployment: I let the kids know that their dad's job is to protect our country. We don't talk about the dangers of deployment; they just know he's "going to work." I'm thankful we haven't had to deal with numerous deployments like so many other families have.
