In the indie film Motherhood, a comedy about the struggles of parenting, Minnie Driver stars alongside Uma Thurman as the adorable, funny, pregnant best friend. It wasn't much of a stretch for the British actress, whose baby bump was actually real at the time: She was pregnant with now-13-month-old son Henry Story Driver (whose father Driver hasn't publicly revealed) while shooting the movie.
The summer heat and demanding filming schedule presented unexpected challenges for the mommy-to-be, who gave birth to her first child soon after Motherhood wrapped. "I didn't really have much business making a movie when I was that pregnant," the 39-year-old actress tells iVillage.
So, how does the single mom manage to raise a baby and keep up with her career? "He just goes with me everywhere," she says. "Babies fit into your life. They really do."
But since becoming a mother, her spending habits have definitely shifted. "I don’t shop for myself anymore," she says. "I can no more go and spend a lot of money on a pair of shoes because I just translate it into stuff at Toys 'R' Us."
Watch our exclusive video to learn how Minnie and her son are alike and why he loves to roll around on her silky sheets.
