Miranda Kerr Posted a Breastfeeding Photo -- Would You?

Before I had a baby, I thought there'd be no way in hell I'd breastfeed in front of my husband, let alone in public. But after going through labor with my guy watching and then deciding I wasn't going to run home every time my newborn was hungry (which, believe me, was a lot!), I threw my plans to hide out the window. Still, I covered up with one of those apron-style nursing covers.

Other moms aren't so shy. Case in point: Miranda Kerr. The supermodel recently released -- to the world -- a photo of herself breastfeeding her newborn son, Flynn. (Dad is actor Orlando Bloom.) Not only does Kerr look stunningly beautiful (I did not look anything nearly resembling that 12 days after giving birth), but the photo captures a sweet, natural moment between mother and son.

Still, it seems like there are plenty of people who have issues with seeing images of breastfeeding moms. In fact, Facebook doesn't allow any photos that show a woman's nipple, even if it's depicting nursing (note: there's a Facebook group devoted to petitioning that rule). In the end, I wonder what would happen if we all became more open about sharing breastfeeding photos -- maybe more women would choose to nurse. Plus, it can be argued that seeing pictures of another woman nursing could help a new mom more easily learn how -- it's not easy!
