Miscarriage: Does Brown Spotting Indicate I'm Miscarrying?
I am 10 weeks pregnant. An ultrasound indicated everything is going well. However, I recently experienced some brown spotting. The doctor told me that brown spotting is just old blood. Am I miscarrying?

I agree with your physician about this situation. Brown discharge is blood that has lost its hemoglobin, which indicates that it is old. It also indicates that it was scant in amount because fresh bleeding will make its way down the vagina in its bright red state in moderate or large amounts.
I would not be alarmed about this, especially in view of the ultrasound findings, which indicate all is proceeding normally.
