Mom Leaves 5-Year-Old Alone to Babysit Younger Siblings

Many moms live for the day that their first-born is mature enough to babysit his younger siblings. One Florida mom, however, entrusted that job to a 5-year-old. Yvonne Rodriguez allegedly left her 2- and 3-year old daughters in the care of their 5-year-old brother while she went shopping and enjoyed a manicure, according to The Daily News. When police responded to a report of possible child neglect at the apartment, the eldest reportedly told them "Mommy is not here, I watching my sisters. Can you watch us now?" Rodriquez, 23, was arrested and charged with three counts of child neglect; the kids were placed in relatives' care.
