What's Your 2012 Parenting Resolution?

What's your 2012 parenting resolution? Personally, I’d like to reduce my son’s screen time -- which has been creeping up as of late -- and finally get around to making a scrapbook of his baby days. (Did I mention that he's five?) Oh, and there’s always that whole be a fitter-more-patient-less-stressed-more-crafty mom goal.

Need some inspiration? Here’s what some of the moms and moms-to-be in our community are saying about resolutions:

"My resolution is to put less pressure on myself to be supermom. I plan to forgive myself more if I give my son an insta-dinner out of a can on a day when I'm tired, or to not beat myself up if I let my son wear the same pair of pajamas three nights in a row. I want to focus on the more fun aspects of parenting -- singing a silly song with my son, or making a fort out of the living room cushions -- rather than worrying about doing everything perfectly." -- Kathy

"This is going to be the year that I deal with all the photos -- making albums and framing pictures. The photos in our home are from when our six-year-old was an infant!" -- Lisa

“To raise my kids as best as possible -- though that's a lifelong resolution, not just for this year!”  -- jessicago-ugh2010

"To stop yelling so much. It's time for me to take a cue from less impassioned parents and learn how to deal with my daughter more calmly and quietly." -- Raven

“I am trying to turn over a new leaf for 2012 … to stop stressing about getting pregnant and just try to think, whenever it happens it happens! We will see how this goes!”  -- em529

“My resolution is to stop cursing so much! I'm going to be a mommy now so I have to set a good example for my little girl.” -- sjf20420

“Have you ever seen those lists of life's most stressful events? Death....moving, wedding, new job, new babies, school... every year since DH and I were engaged, we have had at least two. Our goal for 2012 is to have none. Of course, as I do every year, I am also going to try to stick to a healthier lifestyle and learn to live with less and give more.”  -- ka032006
