More Stylish Than SpongeBob Streamers

We spotted these airy, eye-catching DIY mobiles on a wedding blog, but it’s a party décor idea that’s simple and inexpensive enough (make it for under $25!) to be used for kids’ parties, too.

All you need: vellum paper, small weights (try fishing weights), an X-Acto knife and straight edge, artist tape and a sewing machine. The rainbow version (shown) is gorgeous for an art party or carnival theme, but the color tie-ins are limitless: Think all shades of pink (fuchsia to petal) for a princess party or all white for summery, first-birthday festivities. Hang them in your kid’s room after the party, for a fun reminder!
