When you think of 2010's most stylish men you'd probably think of names like George Clooney, Jake Gyllenhaal or David Beckham. Although these good looking guys would undoubtedly end up on the best-dressed list, our vote for the most stylish man of the year is none other than Old Saint Nick himself!
Whether it was on purpose or not, Santa Claus has embraced some of the year's hottest style trends for men. Let's analyze his style.
Facial Hair
Many men tend to grow out their beards when the weather gets colder, but Santa rocks the scruff year round. A recent poll proved that women (and men) feel that a little scruff is sexier than being clean shaved, and obviously Mr. Claus knows what's up.
Man Makeup
You don't think Santa's signature rosy cheeks are 100% natural, do you? It's clear that Kris Kringle embraces the growing trend of men using makeup to enhance their handsomeness.
Outerwear
Even in the warmer months stylish outerwear was one of 2010's most popular trends for men. Santa has rocked his signature red coat for hundreds of years, but never has it been more in style than now.
Faux Fur
Wearing animal skins around Donner and Blitzen would certainly be awkward, so Santa glommed on to one of hottest trends of the moment: Faux fur. St. Nick knows that with most trends moderation is key, so he opts for some simple trim on his ensemble.
Accessories
It may be cold at the North Pole, but -- temperature aside -- Santa Claus's accessories do more than keep him warm and toasty on those long sleigh rides. 2010's well-dressed man knows that looking sharp takes more than shirts and pants. And that sack of toys doubles as a coordinating man bag!
Boots
Speaking of accessories, one of the biggest style trends the year was rugged footwear. It seems like every men's publication was giving dudes a how-to on how to pull off a cool boot, but no lesson necessary for Father Christmas.
Being Charitable
In these rocky economic times being charitable was certainly in style in 2010. And while Oprah Winfrey may be the year's most charitable celebrity we think it's hard to disagree that Santa Claus may get the lifetime achievement award. Billions of happy children around the world would agree.
So who knows? If Mr. Claus continues his stylish streak men everywhere may be going "Santa chic" in 2011.
