Move Over 'Time' Magazine, We're Naming the Woman of the Year

We want to hear the women who inspired you the most in 2011.

On the day when the blogosphere is buzzing with reaction to Time's choice of the protester as its ‘Person of the Year’ (my favorite tweet, by the way, was “Many are outraged by this choice and will hold a demo”), it seems a perfect time to ask which woman inspired YOU the most this year? Was it Gabrielle Giffords for her grace and determination after an attack that nearly took her life? What about Maria Shriver for the strength she displayed after the bombshell that her husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, fathered a child with the household help? What about Elizabeth Warren, the former White House Consumer Czar who has taken her advocacy for the middle class to a race for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts? And what about Adele for moving us to tears in ways no other singer has done in years?

We could go on and on because there were just so many women this year who made us cheer, laugh and feel inspired – so many that we wanted to put a list together with YOUR help. We’re looking for the women who inspired you most and ultimately, the woman you would choose as Woman of the Year.

Chime in below or on Twitter and Facebook and we’ll reveal our top five and the iVillage Woman of the Year here and on TODAY on December 30th.

So, still feeling angry that a woman didn’t get the Time magazine cover, now is your chance to make your voices heard. And watch here as we all learned on TODAY who Time chose as its “Person of the Year.”
