In a Nutshell: In this animated movie, grieving scientist Dr. Temma (voice of Nicolas Cage) builds a robot in his dead son's image. Ta-da!: the robot Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is born and, using his superpowers, must save the world from aliens.
Why We Can't Wait: While they won't remember the original Japanese manga character and early '60s TV show, kids of all ages will relate to Astro Boy and his quest to make a mark in the world and earn his father's love and respect. It's dicey whether this zippy tale of Frankenstein meets Superboy will appeal to their moms.
