A holiday-themed movie made the most of the long holiday weekend, as Four Christmases easily unseated Twilight for the top spot at the weekend box office. In fact, even Bolt edged in, leaving Twilight in third for the weekend.
Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn's combined star power helped Four Christmases make $31.7 million for the regular weekend, and $46.7 million in its first five days (like most movies on Thanksgiving week, Christmases opened on Wednesday). Bolt took in $26.6 million in its second week, for $66.9 million so far. Twilight added another $26.4 million, bringing it to $119.7 million after its second weekend.
Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman weren't quite the draw of Witherspoon and Vaughn, as their home country epic, Australia brought in only $14.8 million for the weekend, and $20 million in its first five days. That was still good enough for fifth. The week's other wide release, Transporter 3, finished seventh with $12.3 million for the weekend and $18.5 in five days. Apparently we're not the only ones tired of Jason Statham playing the same role over and over again. [Speak for yourself, DeAnn! Crank 2 FTW! - Zach]
