What It's About: In 1949, a pair of rogue cops (Ryan Gosling and Josh Brolin) try to bring down an L.A. mob king (Sean Penn).

Why We're Psyched: Any film starring Ryan Gosling is worth the price of admission, and Penn is always a firecracker. But it's Emma Stone's performance as a gangster moll that we're really excited about. At 24, Stone is ready to step into more sophisticated roles -- and this one, which plays off her chemistry with Crazy, Stupid, Love costar Gosling, should do the trick.
