The complex flavor of this hot punch is surprisingly simple to achieve. Just simmer cider and cranberry juice on the stove, add some spices and fresh orange slices, and let time do the rest of the work. Double or triple the recipe for a large group, and you’ve got an instant crowd pleaser.

| 3 cups cranberry juice | 1 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and sliced into rounds | |
| 1/2 cup light brown sugar | 1 orange, sliced | |
