My Hairdresser Intimidates Me!

Every time I go to a new hairdresser for a consultation I become intimidated and freeze up. I never ask the questions I wanted to and even if I do, I forget what the hairdresser said the minute I leave. I know I shouldn't be nervous but I am. Any suggestions to help me walk away with a better vision of what my hair should look like? What are the "must ask" questions?

Amy,
Never be shy about asking a hairdresser any question. You are the valued client. Every hairdresser should be grateful to see you and answer your every question. If you feel intimidated or nervous, make a list of questions and even jot down a few quick notes of their responses. This will help you remember all your inquires.

Bring in pictures of looks that you like. Your hairdresser will give you a realistic assessment of your hair and if the look is appropriate for you. Ask about the hairdresser's vision for your hair. Does it sound like a direction that you might be interested to try? Be sure to ask about the amount of maintenance your hair will require and how it will affect its condition. How long will it take for you to get ready in the morning? Don't feel uncomfortable asking about price. This is a fair and valid question. Your questions all will help determine the right style and color for you.
