Access Hollywood's most familiar face, Nancy O'Dell, has decided to leave the show two years before her contract expires.
"An original member of the Access Hollywood family, Nancy O'Dell has chosen to leave the show after 13 years," her rep said in a statement. "O'Dell appreciates NBC’s cooperation as she begins this next chapter in her career. Even though she will be leaving for a new opportunity, this decision is based totally on Nancy’s desire to take her career to the next level and is completely amicable. She will continue on with projects as a broadcast entertainment journalist."
Why the sudden move? According to a source for People.com, O'Dell hasn't been thrilled with the sensational direction the show has taken over the last few months. "She has spent a lot of years building respect in the entertainment community and celebrities trust her," says the source. "She's known as the nice and classy girl. She values that."
There's no word on what O'Dell has in mind for the future, but we do know that she is scheduled to host the Tournament of Roses Parade live on NBC on New Year’s Day. Her last appearance on Access Hollywood will be this week.
