The hits just keep coming for (or from, in this case) Naomi Campbell. The model had an outburst during an interview with ABC News when asked if she had been given a "blood diamond" by African despot Charles Taylor.
Campbell, 39, grew annoyed when asked about her time with Taylor and if she had, in fact, received a diamond from him. "I'm not going to speak about that, thank you," she told the reporter. "I'm not here (to talk about) that."
Icily, she went on to say she had dinner with Nelson Mandela, not Taylor. Campbell became increasingly frustrated when asked again about the diamond and why she had been resistant in helping the case against Taylor, who is "accused of orchestrating bloody massacres in which thousands were killed or maimed by amputation."
Campbell looked away from the interviewer and someone else (likely Campbell's rep) can be heard asserting that the supermodel would not talk about the diamond or Taylor's crimes. Campbell soon stormed off, and impulsively threw a punch at the camera on her way out.
The alleged gift in question from Taylor first came to the surface when actress/activist Mia Farrow told prosecutors that the supermodel had, in fact, received it. "She said during the night, some men had knocked at her door and she, half asleep, had opened the door and it was representatives of President Charles Taylor and that they had given her a huge diamond," Farrow told ABC News. If this is true, prosecutors say this is a very important detail in the case, as it would directly link Taylor to the diamonds.
Of course, Campbell's violent reaction to ABC's line of questioning is hardly the first time she's been physically abusive when under stress. She lashed out a limo driver in New York City last month, pled guilty to attacking two London police officers in 2008 and threw a phone at a maid a year earlier. At this point, anyone who sees the British beauty strutting your way, duck!
