The couple, who met on the set of Black Swan back in 2010, married in Big Sur, Calif. Saturday night in a traditional Jewish wedding. People reported on the details of the ceremony, which was coordinated by Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove -- the same L.A.-based duo who coordinated weddings for Reese Witherspoon and Drew Barrymore -- and lasted about 45 minutes. The ceremony was strictly vegan, in keeping with Portman's lifestyle. The California coast nuptials started at 8 p.m. and went on until about 2 a.m.
Portman, 31, kept it classy when it came to designing her wedding dress, which complemented her new hubby's midnight blue tuxedo. She turned to her friends Laura and Kate Mulleavy at Rodarte to come up with a look that ended up both traditional and flattering. Portman walked down the aisle sporting a tea-length A-line white dress with a tulle sheer overlay that covered her arms and chest. To accessorize, she wore nude shoes, a veil and a floral crown made of white wildflowers.
If the style of Portman's wedding dress looks familiar, it's because she's worn Rodarte to many events in the past. Most famously the Mulleavys designed the purple dress Portman wore to accept her Academy Award in 2011, but they were also responsible for the outfits she wore during the Black Swan press tour.
The ceremony followed traditional Jewish wedding guidelines, as far as we can tell. It took place in a chuppah made of twigs, and was illuminated by the folks over at Illuminated by Lighting, Us Weekly reports. The happy couple was wrapped in a tallits (a Jewish shawl) for the ceremony and afterwards Millepied, 35, conducted the traditional glass smashing. Then the duo kicked off the dancing with a 20-minute hora dance.
The approximately 100 attendees included Portman and Millepied's 14-month-old son Aleph, Ivanka Trump and Macaulay Culkin. They were treated to French macarons instead of wedding cake, and were sent home with packets of wildflower seeds inscribed with "Merci" as a wedding gift, paying homage to Millepied's French background.
We wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness!
