NBC & FOX Unveil Their Fall TV Lineups!

See which of your favorite shows (30 Rock! Glee!) will be back and get the scoop on some of the new DVR-worthy series debuting this fall

We've told you what to expect from this spring's season finales, which shows got the ax last week (bye-bye, Alcatraz!), and which were renewed (yay, Parenthood!). Now NBC and FOX have both revealed their full TV lineups for the fall, including some exciting new shows. Read on for details!

At NBC, the big schedule surprise is that the cult favorite Community has been renewed (woo-hoo!) and taken out of the Must-See TV lineup on Thursday nights (boo!). Instead, the Joel McHale sitcom will air on Fridays at 8:30, following Whitney. Hopefully, the change will help stabilize the rest of the Thursday night shows -- 30 Rock (back for its -- sniff -- final season), Up All Night, The Office and Parks and Recreation -- which currently seem to switch places every week. But we hope it doesn't spell doom for Community, which has only been renewed for a 13-episode mini-season.

Another surprise: the musical hit Smash has been pulled from the fall schedule. But don't despair -- it's being brought back in mid-season, along with new shows . And big performer The Voice will get both fall and spring seasons!

Over at FOX, the big switcheroo is that Glee -- which just announced two A-list additions to the cast for season 4 -- has moved from Tuesday night to Thursday night (where it will follow the X Factor results show). New Girl will remain on Tuesdays, along with the under-watched Raising Hope. And the Kiefer Sutherland drama Touch is moving to Fridays, where it will precede the final season of Fringe.

In addition to these favorites, we'll have some new shows to add to our DVR lists. Here's a rundown of some of the most promising fall series.

Revolution (NBC)
This post-apocalyptic thriller from J. J. Abrams, about a future where electricity has inexplicably stopped working, seems likely to recapture some of the best things about his game-changing drama Lost.

The Mindy Project (FOX)
We love Mindy Kaling on The Office, and we loved her even more when we read her hilarious memoir, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns). Now one of TV's most original actress-writer-directors is getting her own comedy, about "a Bridget Jones-type OB/GYN" with quirky coworkers and relationship problems. We can't wait.

The New Normal (NBC)
Glee creator Ryan Murphy is behind this timely new comedy-drama, about a gay male couple who hires a surrogate to have their baby. Bonus: it costars The Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe Leakes!

Animal Practice (NBC)
The very crush-worthy Justin Kirk (Weeds) plays an irreverent veterinarian who's better with animals than he is with people. One of Kirk's costars is a monkey. 'Nuff said.

The Following (FOX)
We'll have to wait for mid-season for this one, but for fans of crime shows, it sounds worthwhile. Kevin Bacon stars as a former FBI agent chasing down a serial killer and his cult following of copycats.

Of the major networks, only NBC has put previews of all their new shows online. Happily, they also have the most new shows, and you can go here to see clips of all seven (as well as clips from some of NBC's other new series -- such as 1600 Penn, Save Me and Next Caller -- that'll make their debuts mid-season).
