Neil Patrick Harris is about to add one more title to his already impressive resume: Proud Papa! As E! reported over the weekend, the 37-year-old actor, best known for his work on television and stage, is expecting twins with his partner David Burtka, via a surrogate.
Harris, who recently revived the musical RENT at the Hollywood Bowl and is up for three (yes, count 'em, three!) Emmys this year, twittered to fans, "So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy... "
Harris' How I Met Your Mother costar Alyson Hannigan also chimed in, posted via her Twitter, "Congrats to @ActuallyNPH & David on their family expanding to four soon! Can't wait for the playdates:)"
The couple, who have been together for six years (Burtka, 35, an actor and chef, has even appeared on HIMYM as the lovelorn character Scooter), are expecting their bundles of joy this October. A source told E! that the soon-to-be proud parents have begun to make preparations for a baby shower.
