Sesame Workshop recently announced the launch of its first-ever app for the iPhone and iPod Touch: "Grover's Number Special". Pretty hip for a brand that's only a year younger than I am. By contrast, I can barely download a ringtone, much less build an iPhone app.
Now you can keep your kids busy while you’re on the go, so long as you're not expecting any calls.
In the game, kids help Grover manage a restaurant by catching and counting ingredients for nutritious meals. (If you know anything about Grover's career as a waiter, don't order the BIG hamburger.)
Sesame doesn't plan on being a one-app wonder. Upcoming official iPhone/iPod games include "Elmo's Monster Maker" and "Sesame Street 123".
With Sesame aggressively pioneering new platforms -- the Workshop launched a new Facebook presence this month and their first blog earlier this year -- no one should ever have to ask again, "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" It's already wherever you are.
