Looks like Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps might be diving into the celebrity dating pool, as he was recently spotted getting cozy with reality star Brittny Gastineau.
According to People.com, the pair recently hooked up after a night at Los Angeles' Mondrian Hotel, where they were inseparable.
"It's just started," says the source, of the new relationship. "But they're really cute together."
After their hotel date, Phelps, 25, and Gastineau, 28, were spotted the next day shopping at Nordstrom at The Grove and recharging at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.
Though these two may seen like an unlikely couple, a source close to Gastineau says that the two have bonded over sports. While Phelps is a multiple Olympic gold medal winner, Gastineau is the daughter of football icon Mark Gastineau.
The starlet "thinks he's a really sweet guy," says the source. "She understands his athletic background since her dad was an athlete."
But don't buy them a wedding gift just yet, says the insider. "Brittny's been in long-term relationships her whole life. She's young and she's just having fun."
