Just when you thought you’ve seen every nail polish color imaginable, nails have gotten even more fun. The hottest nail trend of the moment? Nail stickers -- yes, stickers!
Inspired by celebrities like Lady Gaga and Rihanna who are known for flaunting wild designs on their nails, every major nail company from Sally Hansen to OPI has launched nail stickers that eliminate the need for polish. The pre-painted and designed stickers come in lots of fun prints and patterns -- think zebra, leopard, skulls, flowers, butterflies, color-changing, checks and more. But if you prefer something subtler than say, animal print, there are solid color stickers in traditional shades like pink, red and beige, plus tiny nail stickers in sweet shapes like stars and flowers to accessorize your look.
Still skeptical about the style? Consider this: While the single-use stickers are pricier than a bottle of nail polish, they save time as you get the look of freshly polished nails without having to actually paint your nails. Never mind the arty designs -- trying to copy those looks at home would take hours, possibly days! Another bonus: some companies, like Sally Hansen, do not require any drying time. You just stick the nail-shaped strips on clean, dry nails, file and you’re done. Most brands claim the stickers last up to two weeks, and when it’s time for a fresh pair, you remove any residue with polish remover, just like regular nail polish.
