It's time to welcome a whole new batch of ladies to The Real Housewives of New York City! Bravo's Andy Cohen revealed new cast members Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson during a Watch What Happens: Live party in New York City Wednesday night.
The trio are replacing Cindy Barshop, Alex McCord, Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon, who were fired from the show six months ago, and will join returning Housewives LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan. We'll get to know the new additions better when the fifth season's 90-minute premiere airs June 4 at 9 p.m., but until then there's a drama-filled (it is named "Backstabbers, Blackmails, and Orgasms," after all) preview clip to tide fans over. Watch it below!
Drescher -- who, yes, is the cousin of The Nanny's Fran Drescher -- is the only born-and-bred New Yorker of the bunch. The wife of banker Reid Drescher lost her leg in a farm accident when she was just 6 years old, which has spurred her to become the national spokesperson for the amputee charity One Step Ahead. She's also involved in several other charitable organizations.
Radziwill's past has had some tragic moments as well. The best-selling author and journalist was married to ABC News producer Anthony Radziwill, who passed away in 1999 after a long battle with cancer. Radziwill is also the only woman on the cast to be connected to royalty: Her husband was the son of Polish prince Stanislaw Radziwill and Lee Bouvier, the younger sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Last but not least is Thomson, who has made a name for herself as a successful designer and stylist. Best known for her shapewear line, Yummie by Heather Thomson, the mother of two has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, like Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles and Sean Combs.
The new Housewives sound like good people to us!
