File Under: Didn't Need to Know -- New Site Tells You if Someone Died in Your House

Ever wonder if your house was the inspiration for Poltergeist?

Do you hear bumps in the night? Moans and shrieks from the attic? Think your house may be...haunted?

Well, there's a website for that. DiedinHouse.com (yep) will tell you if someone has died in your home. House, condo and apartment dwellers can find out if someone has died under their roof.

Wait. Wouldn't my real estate agent tell me that? Nope. In many states, there is no law requiring disclosure of any deaths in a home to potential buyer or renters. For obvious reasons, but ugh, creepy.

We tried three searches and found no deaths in our house or our parents homes (phew!). One thing that is interesting, the site shows all known residents in your home over the years, in case you wondered.

If you want to do a one time only search (maybe you're home shopping?) on DiedinHouse.com, it will set you back $11.99. Multiple searches cost more, but the cost per search goes down. You know, when you want to check for deaths for every home on your block.
