Oh my goodness, our little Andy is all grown up! It seems like just yesterday he was a little kid in a cowboy hat, playing with Woody and Buzz Lightyear... and now our little baby is off to college.
Okay, yes, we know that Andy is a fictional character, and we even knew that he was turning 18 in the upcoming Toy Story 3. We just didn't expect the new trailer to tug so hard at our heartstrings. Only Pixar could get us choked up about a cartoon kid leaving home.
Of course, being Pixar, they immediately make us laugh, with John Ratzenberger's gloomy Piggy Bank muttering, "Come on, let's see how much we're going for on eBay." And if eBay humor doesn't make you giggle, then the sight of Mr. Potatohead's eye being shoved up a toddler's nose surely will.
As great as this trailer is, there are two big details about Toy Story 3 that haven't yet been revealed. One is the character voiced by Whoopi Goldberg -- will she be a toy? a human? No one knows yet!
The other is the adorable new character Mr. Pricklepants, an overdramatic toy hedgehog voiced by former James Bond, Timothy Dalton. You can watch a sneak preview of Mr. Pricklepants here, speaking in a British accent and (for some reason) wearing lederhosen.
