A New Year's Eve Pajama Party

Can't find a baby-sitter on New Year's Eve? Have a double celebration at home -- a slumber party for your children and a cocktail party for the adults. For the kids, B. Smith, lifestyle expert and author of B. Smith: Rituals & Celebrations, suggests a menu of cheddar cheese soup, chicken tenders and chocolate cookie ice-cream sandwiches. After dinner, let the kids settle down in their sleeping bags while you prepare a platter of special-occasion treats for the adults: caviar, smoked salmon served with creme fraiche, shrimp cocktail and of course champagne. (For more party recipes, click here.) Don't forget party hats, confetti and noisemakers. If you do manage to get the kids to fall asleep, skip the noisemakers.
