chime in now"My kids have been to some incredibly remote and exotic places from Ixtapa to Madeira Island... but our hands-down favorite family vacation was to New York City. Unlike so many places we’ve been—which all tend to blur together into one giant frolicking-in-the-pool memory montage—New York was filled with new and unique adventures every minute of every day. Visiting the iconic spots they’ve seen in movies and read about in books like Central Park and Rockefeller Center and the Statue of Liberty nearly blew their little minds, but even riding the subway and hailing cabs were thrilling experiences for them. I was worried they might be too young to fully appreciate a Broadway show (and by 'fully appreciate' I mean 'get my money’s worth for the tickets that cost as much as a decent used car') but I missed half of The Lion King because I couldn’t take my eyes off their awe-struck faces. They ask constantly when they can go back—and whenever that is, it won’t be soon enough for any of us."
