What would Buffy have to say about this?
Actor Nicholas Brendon, best known for his role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was charged Wednesday with four misdemeanors -- one count resisting arrest, two counts of battery against a police officer and one count of vandalism -- in connection with an incident last month when he allegedly fought with police.
Brendon was arrested in Venice, Calif., on March 17 after police received a call that an intoxicated individual was causing a commotion. When cops arrived on the scene, Brendon reportedly tried to hit them and run, but was finally stopped by cops who tasered him -- twice -- and arrested him. According to TMZ, if convicted, Brendon could face two years in jail and a $4,000 fine. He will be arraigned today.
From his geeky Xander Harris on Buffy to his current role as an even nerdier computer technician on Criminal Minds, Brendon isn't exactly known as a Hollywood bad boy. However, this also isn't his first brush with trouble. In 2004 he announced at a Buffy fan convention that he had voluntarily entered rehab for alcoholism.
Let's hope that Brendon gets his act together. If not, perhaps the old Buffy Scooby Gang will stage an intervention.
