Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon are "straaaaaanded in Aspen" after Cannon suffered what Carey is describing as "mild kidney failure." On Wednesday, the 41-year-old pop singer uploaded a photo to her Twitter account showing herself and Cannon, 31, lying in a hospital bed together, and asking fans to "please pray for Nick."
Carey, who was seen out and about with Cannon in Aspen, Colo., on New Year's Eve, mused on her website that this has been an interesting reversal for the couple. "Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are," she wrote. ("Dembabies," of course, are the couple's twins Moroccan and Monroe, who were born April 30.)
Carey and Cannon were spotted in Aspen, Colo., on New Year's Eve, looking vim, vigorous and ready for fun. But, for now, Carey is focused on helping her man get better.
"We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful," she wrote on her site. "They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C."
After joking about being stuck in Aspen, a "#DramaticDivaPlace," Carey was quick to clarify that she wasn't making light of the situation.
"The truth is as long as we're together, we're OK," she added. "It's a serious moment that's very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers."
