Nick Carter Isn't Canceling His Tour After Sister's Death

Despite his sister Leslie's sudden death on Tuesday, the former Backstreet Boy is forging ahead with his planned concert tour.

When Access Hollywood broke the news late Tuesday night that Nick and Aaron Carter's sister Leslie had died, the Carter family released a statement saying that they were "grieving" and "deeply saddened for the loss" of the 25-year-old aspiring singer. And Nick, 32, is grieving the best way he knows how: by forging ahead with his planned concert tour and dedicating the performances to his late sister.

"Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform," the former Backstreet Boys member said in a statement Wednesday.

Leslie, whose single "Like Wow!" was featured on the Shrek soundtrack in 2001, was reportedly married in 2008 and gave birth to daughter Alyssa Jane Ashton in April 2011.

No other details regarding Leslie's passing are availabe at this time. Nick's tour is scheduled to resume Thursday with a show at New York City's Irving Plaza.
