Just one week after announcing that he was getting married, it was Nick Lachey's turn to chime in on ex-wife Jessica Simpson's engagement. And, being the gentleman that he is, the singer had nothing but supportive words for Simpson as she prepares to walk down the aisle with beau Eric Johnson.
"I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best," he told UsMagazine.com Monday, while promoting his NBC singing show The Sing-Off.
Last week it was Simpson who was professing her happiness for Lachey, after he and his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo announced that they had put a ring on it.
"Our relationship was over a really long time ago," Simpson told Ryan Seacrest, "And it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best."
As for Lachey, well, he's "still basking in the glow" of becoming Minnillo's fiance. "I'm sure we'll get on the other planning shortly. We are now just enjoying this experience."
