I didn't think people really do this!
Nicky Hilton made a citizen's arrest outside an IHOP, after a homeless man pushed her to the ground around 5 a.m. Saturday morning.
"One of our deputies was at the IHOP, having a coffee break, and noticed a waitress run outside because there was a commotion," Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told to UsMagazine.com.
More cops were then called "because there was a misdemeanor battery that involved Nicky Hilton and a man named Michael Broadhurst," said the rep.
Apparently the man "came up behind Ms. Hilton and pushed her. She's OK, but she was desirous of prosecution. She said, 'I am placing you under citizen's arrest!'"
Fortunately, Nicky wasn't hurt.
"It is my understanding that she is OK," the cop said. "A battery is just an unwanted touching."
Good to know! Now, anytime you're on the subway and the guy next to you falls asleep and leans on your shoulder, you can totally yell, "I'm placing you under citizen's arrest!"
Yay -- a new game.
