You know the economy is bad when you have to sell your castle.
This weekend, Nicolas Cage accepted an offer to sell Midford Castle, near Bath in the U.K. Although he never lived in the historic castle, he was mid-restoration and sold it off for only 3 million dollars (you could get a brownstone in Brooklyn for that!).
According to Perez Hilton, Milford Castle is one of five homes Nicolas Cage has recently put on the market, including properties in the Bahamas, New Orleans and Hollywood. (Here's the listing for the New Orleans property, if you're interested.) And that's not including another castle, this one in Bavaria, that he sold in April.
If you're wondering why Nick Cage is playing this worldwide game of Monopoly all of a sudden, the answer is: he's broke. Cage blames his business manager for bad investments and is suing him for $20 million. If you're wondering why he needed all those houses in the first place? Couldn't tell you.
