Things don't seem to be getting any better for Nicolas Cage in the money department. The actor, who has had a slew of cash issues over the last few months, is being sued by the mother of his eldest son for a whopping $13 million.
According to papers filed in a Los Angeles court, Christina Fulton, mother of Weston, 18, is suing Nic for fraud and breach of contract, claiming she has been negatively effected by Nic's money's troubles. The mom claims she is now $1.2 million in debt herself.
According to recent reports, Nic owes $6.3 million in back taxes and recently defaulted on a $2 million loan. Fulton, a former actress, claims that the IRS is now after her for more than $1 million, in addition to $250,000 in unpaid credit card debt. She says the credit card was supposed to be paid off regularly by Nic, and that fraudulent charges were made by a member of the actor's staff.
A rep for Cage told People.com, "This lawsuit is ridiculous and absurd. Nicolas Cage has given her approximately three million every year for many years, even though he was only obligated to pay her six thousand a month in child support. We expect this lawsuit to be promptly thrown out."
