WATCH: Nicole Kidman Straddles Zac Efron in 'Paperboy' Trailer!

Things get pretty steamy for the two stars -- who are 21 years apart -- in this film, hitting theaters at the end of the year

Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron are hot, hot, hot in their new pulpy period melodrama The Paperboy!

Set in 1960's South Florida, the movie -- and adaptation of author Pete Dexter's critically acclaimed 1995 novel The Paperboy -- stars Kidman as the trashy bleach-blond fiancee of a death row inmate (John Cusack). In her desperation to help Cusack's convicted murderer, the obsessed femme fatale enlists the help of investigative reporters (on-screen brothers Matthew McConaughey and Efron).

Things quickly, as you'll see in the trailer, get dark, violent and sexy -- especially between Kidman, 45, and the young Efron, 24, who are seen getting it on in bed (check out Kidman's vintage black bra and panty set!). In another scene, the two dance in the rain together, while Efron wears nothing but his briefs.

Directed by Lee Daniels (Precious), the drama received a mixed critical response after its world premiere at Cannes in May, but chances are audiences will be curious to see Kidman and Efron in the sexy thriller.

"I've been looking as an actor for something raw and more dangerous in terms of performances, and then this came along," Kidman has said of the role.

And Efron has also mentioned the role -- and how excited he was to star opposite one of his personal celebrity crushes!

"I have been in love with her for a long time, since Moulin Rouge. It was the best opportunity in the world for me, and I loved every moment."

The Paperboy will be out via limited release on Oct. 5, but you can watch the first full-length theatrical trailer below.
