Nikki Reed on 'Twilight' Cast: "We're Not All Best Friends"

The actress says that she and her costars are "not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done"

The Twilight films show the Cullens as one big happy family -- but according to series star Nikki Reed, some of those familial relationships end when the camera stops rolling. To promote the saga's upcoming penultimate film, Breaking Dawn - Part 1, the newly married on-screen vampire sat down with Seventeen to discuss the way things have changed since the first Twilight was released in 2008.

"In the beginning, it was innocent and fun, and we were like one big happy family – it was like being at sleepaway camp," Reed says. "And then success comes along and changes the dynamic."

Apparently the dynamic is pretty seriously changed. In fact, the 23-year-old actress -- who just released a music single she recorded with her hubby, America Idol alum Paul McDonald -- doesn't seem to think those relationships will outlast the end of the film franchise.

"We're not all best friends," she admits. "And we're not all going to hang out together after the final movie is done."

Could Reed be referring to her relationship with on-screen and off-screen couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart? Reed and Stewart seemed to be BFFs following the first Twilight film -- but that started to change in early 2009, when rumors surfaced that Reed and Pattinson were hooking up. (At the time, Stewart was still with her longtime boyfriend, actor Michael Angarano.) Pattinson and Stewart have since become a couple, and Reed has since married Paul McDonald.

Of course, Reed doesn't specifically name R-Pattz and K-Stew in the Seventeen interview, so she could be talking about any of her costars. Regardless, Reed says it's been tough to see the relationships fizzle over the course of the franchise.

"It was very, very sad. Let's just leave it at that," Reed says. "Attachments grow when you're working with the same people for so long. People are friends, people fall in love, people get in fights. We're not all robots in that way. Sure, things have gone on, and it's weird to have them be in the public eye."
