Nine Great Breakfasts to Get You Going

  1. Waffle Pizza and Orange Juice Use a whole-grain waffle for crust, all-natural peanut butter for sauce, and banana slices for pepperoni.
  2. Whole-grain Lavash Burrito and Hot Chocolate Fill lavash (Armenian flatbread) with scrambled eggs or egg substitute, low-fat cheese, and mild salsa or chutney.
  3. Baked Bananas in Orange Juice with Vanilla Yogurt, Low-Fat Bran Muffin and Herb Tea Slice one banana lengthwise. Place in microwaveable dish and pour juice to halfway up the banana. Add raisins and chopped walnuts. Heat and top with yogurt and cinnamon or brown sugar.
  4. Instant Miso Soup with Tofu, Fresh Orange Slices and Whole-Grain Toast
  5. Super Cereal and Juice Mix 1/2 cup cereal mix (equal parts quick oats, Wheatena and Maltex), 2 tablespoons non-fat milk powder, dash of salt, 1 tablespoon raisins, 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or almonds and 1 cup water. Bring to boil, then simmer until done; top with maple syrup or brown sugar.
  6. Cinnamon Raisin Toast Spread with Almond Butter and Apple Prune Whirl Blend 1/2 cup prune juice, 1/4 cup apple cider and 1/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt.
  7. Burrito and Coffee or Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon Spread tortilla with refried black beans. Add shredded low-fat cheese and salsa. Roll up and microwave.
  8. Homemade Whole-Grain Muffin (from freezer), Egg (hard-boiled the night before), and Juice, Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate
  9. Baked Apple with Cottage Cheese and Corn Muffin Core an apple and fill with brown sugar, raisins and nuts. Add apple juice or cider to dish and microwave. Top with cottage cheese and cinnamon sugar.
