When it comes to fruit, eat it—don't drink it, says iVillage diet and nutrition expert, Dr. Madelyn Fernstrom. Just because it says it's "100 percent juice" does not mean it's necessarily low in calories and sugar. Even pomegranate juice, the new "it" juice, is still a danger zone. If you're going to go for the juice, try picking dark-red fruits and drink it in smaller portions.
A good alternative: A splash of 100 percent juice in seltzer.
