Nurture Your Spirit: Real World Exercise

Most of us are consistently on the merry-go-round of trying to balance our lives. Although that goal may be next to impossible to achieve, we can certainly do some things on a daily basis that will help ease the stress that so burdens us.

Something as simple as treating yourself to a weekly bath in solitude is a wonderful way of giving your body and soul an opportunity to rejuvenate. This is the kind of bath where you make sure everyone in the house knows not to bother you -- no rushing allowed!

Actually, I've discovered that half the fun of this exercise is splurging on all of the wonderful bath oils, soaps, salts and scents, Often, I will bring a cool drink in and light some aromatic candles. Then I sink into that steaming hot water and let all of my worries evaporate as my body soaks up the deliciousness of this quiet time.

Set up a time for your own personal spa at least once a week -- more if possible. This act of self-care not only offers physical health benefits, but I think you'll be surprised at how a small act like this can propel you forward in beginning to simplify your life.
