Nadya Suleman -- who's better known as Octomom for giving birth to eight children at once -- said she would do whatever it takes to protect her large family. And she did.
The 36-year-old mother of 14 recently posed nude for the U.K. magazine Closer in order to prevent her home from being foreclosed. It was reported by TMZ that she had made around $10,000 on the deal, but today she revealed to Anderson Cooper on his show Anderson that the number was actually a less than that.
"I am being honest. I did it for money," Suleman says in the interview. "I got $8,000, and I was able to pay off [my debt]. You know, I have to do what I have to do to take care of my family. And I'm not ashamed."
Suleman admits that she's been struggling to pay her mortgage, and her money troubles spurred her to go topless for the magazine. Because she was "six months or so" behind on her payments, she had to find a way to make cash fast. So, she decided to strip down.
Suleman says she now has the money to move her big family within "the next month and a half" -- and she's not embarrassed about the way she had to do it.
"You have to learn to let go of everyone's perspective of you because you cannot please the world," she tells Cooper. "You have to please God, because he's the only one you really have to answer to at the end of the day. Myself, and my children. And I have never sacrificed my morals and values. I haven't."
In the interview with Closer, Suleman admitted she thinks she is "such a good mother."
"The kids have structure and discipline and only eat healthily, they don’t know what candy is!" Suleman said. "I've done a really great job with them. I don't get any credit."
