Oksana Grigorieva has just scored a win in her ongoing feud with ex-boyfriend Mel Gibson: a judge has declared that Gibson owed her four times the child support he was paying. Grigorieva will now receive $20,000 a month -- up from $5,000 -- to provide for 11-month-old Lucia.
Sounds like a whole lot of money for one little baby, but according to Grigorieva's lawyer, "it's a very modest award by Hollywood standards." In fairness, Mel Gibson is worth over one billion dollars, and being the mother of his child requires certain extra expenses -- like security guards and legal fees.
As for Gibson, he's still trying to prove that Grigorieva lied about his abusive behavior. On Friday, TMZ ran a report from an anonymous source, saying that Grigorieva had accused former partner Timothy Dalton of abusing her years earlier. The website claims that the L.A. County Sheriff's Department has an email from Grigorieva to Gibson in which she calls Dalton an abuser. Grigorieva has responded that she never made such claims, and that "any implication that he ever struck me is untrue."
If Grigorieva did claim that Dalton was hitting her, and then denied it afterwards, it would help Gibson's lawyers to make their case that Grigorieva is a liar and a golddigger. Seems a little unfair to us; what if Dalton did abuse her? It's not rare for women to go from one abusive relationship to another. Maybe she's denying it now because she wants to protect her son with Dalton? Or maybe we've got it all wrong. Hopefully Oprah will be able to get us some answers!
