Even though Mel Gibson's ex Oksana Grigorieva wasn't able to sit down with Oprah Winfrey (the court's gag order kept her off the show), she's still finding plenty of ways to share her story. First she bared her soul to People -- and now she's telling all to Larry King.
While visiting Larry King Live on Wednesday, Grigorieva, 40, described the evening in which Gibson, 54, attacked her while she held their young daughter Luciana. "(On) Jan. 6 the beating took place," she said. "Mel actually assaulted me while I was holding the baby in my arms... I ran into my son's bedroom and told him, 'Mel's crazy.'"
Grigorieva, who is joined in the interview by her lawyer, went on to say she stood in the way of their daughter and her 12-year-old son Alexander "like a mother protecting her cubs." She said Gibson struck her twice and choked her with both children in the room. (Earlier this week it was reported by PopEater that Gibson admitted in court documents to slapping, but not punching her in a fit of hysteria.)
Gibson, who Grigorieva says was not drunk at the time, also allegedly brandished a gun at her. It was her fear for her life that prompted her to tape those now-infamous phone calls. "I started taping it around 11 o'clock because I thought, 'I'm actually not going to live through the night. I'm actually not going to live through the night and I wanted my mother to be able to prove that if I'm dead that this is who did it," she told King.
While she admits she did take Gibson back again after the incident (she claims he begged and pleaded for her forgiveness), she has her regrets. "That was a mistake," she said. "I stayed a little bit too long."
